Vasti

Vasti (Enema) is the prime Panchakarma treatment since it cleanses the accumulated toxins from all the three doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, through the colon. In 'Sneha (oil) vasti medicated oil is introduced through the anal rout for the evacuation of accumulated waste materials. In 'Kashayavasti' the same process of administration is done using a specially prepared herbal decoction (kashayam) prepared by mixing honey, rock salt, sneham (oils), paste of medicines. The procedure is usually applied for 8 to 30 days based on the medical condition of a person.
